2017 Arctic Cat M Series – 2017 Arctic Cat M Series – Mountain Models – Don’t compare snowmobiles, compare reviews. The new 2017 M is designed to let you carve, climb and explore higher and higher without worry. Across the lineup, you’ll find even better handling, durability and ottability with Arctic Mountain Suspension, FLOAT-ACTION rear suspension and TEAM Rapid Response clutch. Plus, with three different track lengths, you get performance you’ve never seen before. Those looking for that extra thrill won’t want to miss the spring model in the Factory Exclusives promotion, the M HCR, or the Mountain Cat® with its 1.125″ lowered drive shaft, eight-tooth sprockets and continued weight reduction.
Proclimb Chassis
With ultra-rigid construction and neutral driver balance, the ProClimb® chassis incorporates punched, forged or cast parts to maximize the inherent strength of each. The design brings the load-bearing components of the chassis together, eliminating flex and chassis fatigue. The ProClimb chassis, the backbone of the M line, features a completely redesigned front suspension and a refined FLOAT-ACTION rear suspension.
Arctic Mountain Rear Suspension
All M models have a new look this year. The new one-piece shafts set back towards the driver’s mass have allowed us to reduce weight by 1.01 kg (2.4 lbs) while maximizing quality and strength. When it comes to counter maneuvers, the new 27° caster angle puts your inner ski in the optimal position to split the snow when maneuvering downhill. It’s ideal when you’re a slope enthusiast taking over. Plus, the one-piece forged aluminum shaft minimizes contact area at any steering angle, reducing drag.
Float-Action Rear Suspension
The FLOAT-ACTION rear suspension features a triple-hub rear axle system with a FOX FLOAT®3 rear arm shock paired with an Arctic Cat® internal floating piston front arm shock. If you’re someone who enjoys expeditions on and off the trail, the adaptability is just what you need.
Mountain Skis Proclimb-7
The new ProClimb-7 mountain ski is 7″ at the tip and tapers to 6.5″ in the center. The wider skis improve your ability to carve snow. Plus, to counteract the braking effects of your skis going downhill, the tip tilt is controlled. A wider ski shock absorber with a longer axle and lock increases lateral adjustability. The deeper keel has a redesigned camber for more positive steering, providing smoother transitions to navigate between trees.
91.5 Cm (36″) Ski Gap
If the backcountry is your passion, the all-new M suspension will soon make you a great explorer. With the narrower 91.5 cm (36 in.) ski spacing and adjustable from 90.2 to 97.8 cm (34.5 to 38.5 in.), it’s easier to pick and hold a line masterfully. It’s easier to carve, to ride on the side of a slope, to navigate between trees. Riding has never been easier.
Team Clutch
TEAM Industries is making your Arctic Cat® even better this year with its primary and secondary clutches. Known in the industry for their light weight and strength, they eliminate belt slippage. As a result, belt and clutch temperatures are reduced and more power is transmitted to the track. In addition, clutch adjustment is easy and precise.
Arctic Drive System
The Arctic Drive system features a lightweight magnesium chain case. For 2016, we incorporated a large TEAM® Rapid Reaction BOSS driven pulley and a TEAM Rapid Response® drive pulley.

2017 Arctic Cat M MOUNTAIN CAT 8000 (153)
Mountain snowmobile enthusiasts, meet the Mountain Cat. Just like you, this snowmobile is made for heights. Just take a look at its lowered drive shaft and Mountain Drive system that flattens the track’s approach angle, improving both rideability and handling. For example, eight-tooth sprockets can be used with the Power Claw deep powder track at 3″ pitch, providing more efficient power transfer without sacrificing anything. Narrower running boards and a 1.25″ lowered chain guard give you a good grip on steep slopes. All of this makes this mountain snowmobile more powerful with a significant weight reduction. In short, we think you and this sled will get along just fine.
