KEY FEATURES

Genesis 998 turbocharged engine

The Genesis 998T is powered by a gifted Genesis three-cylinder engine. Already known for its hellish power from takeoff to top speed, this engine inherits a factory-installed turbo that allows it to set new standards in performance, while maintaining the quality, durability and reliability that make Yamaha so successful.

NEW track housing and chain case lowered and moved slightly to the rearThe track housing was moved to accommodate more efficient 8-tooth track drive studs. We also modified the space under the tunnel and thinned the running boards to improve maneuverability in deep snow.

High performance YSRC clutch

The YSRC primary clutch and secondary roller pulley are specially designed to provide long-lasting operation and cooling. They transfer all of the Genesis Turbo’s insane torque to the track while minimizing belt wear. The primary pulley clutches aggressively to make full use of the power, while the secondary pulley provides additional ratio with its oversized plates, so you can keep accelerating when your rivals are running out of breath.

Exclusive 50th Anniversary Style

The beautiful red and white colors are accented by a blackened windshield and sparkling graphics. This limited edition model will become a true collector’s item before long.

FOX FLOAT QS3 high-end shock absorbers

The front suspension is equipped with Fox FLOAT air shocks and a premium tuning system called QS3 to increase the number of adjustments. The center shock also features the QS3 Float, while the rear shock is equipped with the mountain-designed QSL Float, which features a locking circuit for extreme climbing.

PERFORMANCE

High tech turbo engine

The extremely robust and precise nickel alloy turbine housing can withstand very high temperatures. Supported by high quality ceramic bearings, the Inconel blades of the turbine are very strong despite their light weight.

Mitsubishi electronic control module

The Mitsubishi MCE developed by Yamaha takes advantage of 9 sensors to collect data on engine operating conditions and then performs calculations using a predetermined map in memory. Based on the results, it adjusts ignition timing, fuel delivery, manifold air pressure and boosted turbo pressure to maximize efficiency, reliability and performance.

Air intake via three intake bodies

Each cylinder has its own intake manifold located as close as possible to the intake valves. This unique design provides instant acceleration when combined with the efficient turbo and air bypass system.

Electronic air bypass valve

Unlike traditional bleed valves, the air bypass valve redirects air pressure to the intake portion of the compressor to prevent spiking and preserve turbine speed, allowing the engine to be ready to respond to the next acceleration.

Liquid-cooled turbocharger

The coolant circulates through the turbocharger to control the temperature. Once the engine is shut down, the convection energy produced by the coolant, which has been heated to the extreme by the turbocharger, allows it to continue to circulate without having to operate the coolant pump. The result? The engine’s cooling cycle can be eliminated, while maintaining the high durability of the turbocharger components.

MANIABILITY

36″ SRV-M front suspension

The SRV-M front suspension is ultra-compact to reduce drag in powder. The ultra-narrow spread offers extreme maneuverability and steeper lean angles for blistering hillside performance and precise turns in deep powder. Lightweight forged-aluminum spindles team up with the upper and lower control arms to produce a wide rake angle for lighter steering. The narrowness and elimination of the sway bar also improve agility in deep snow in a big way.

Mountain SRV chassis, both rigid and light

The SRV-M chassis uses a triangulated support structure and lightweight aluminum to provide a snowmobile with perfectly balanced mass centered around the rider. The pyramid-shaped upper part of the frame gives the chassis strength without adding weight.

Steering adapted to mountain driving

A high steering post provides optimal ergonomics for stand-up riding. The 13 cm elevation block, with a wide, molded-in mountain bar with a curved end, lets you zip around off-road with confidence, and that’s not to mention the strap for mountain riding. And the whole system is adjustable, so you can find the perfect riding position in any situation.

Design focused on mass centralization

The SRV chassis layout emphasizes centralization of mass. Some 60 percent of the sled’s mass is located within the main wishbone structure. The result is a smooth-running snowmobile that’s a lot of fun to ride at all times!

Yamaha Mountain Skis

Yamaha’s lightweight mountain skis offer everything you need for deep snow. Their wide footprint increases flotation and lifts the front end of the snowmobile in deep snow. The traction bars on top of the skis give you a secure grip in the worst situations. Plus, the wide, deep keel design lightens the steering while providing predictable handling in fresh powder.

CONFORT

Large fuel tank

The large 37.5-liter fuel tank serves many purposes. In addition to holding gasoline, it provides an attachment point for the battery tray and acts as a platform for the quick-release seat.

Heated mountain seat

Extremely lightweight and practical, this narrow seat facilitates standing transitions and helps improve rider mobility. The addition of a contoured heating element increases comfort on chilly mornings.

Numerical indicators

Fully equipped and easy to read, the digital gauge display shows all critical data at a glance, including speed, fuel level, distance traveled, tachometer data, and much more. There’s even a watch so you can extend the fun to the last minute!

Push button for reverse gear

The location of this pushbutton – easily accessible by the thumb – makes it much easier to shift into reverse. A servomotor moves the transmission gears into the reverse position simply and consistently.

Electric starter supplied as standard

With Yamaha’s electric start system, just turn the key and go! Gone are the days when you had to pull a nylon rope to start the beautiful thing. Electric starting is standard equipment on all Yamaha four-stroke models.
