AWARD-WINNING ASCENDER PLATFORM WITH LIGHTWEIGHT ASCENDER BODY

Defy the mountain with the legendary Ascender lightweight platform.® Optimal positioning of the drive shaft increases clearance for the 3″ bead track while allowing the use of eight-tooth drive sprockets. This results in a flat track approach angle on the snow for maximum buoyancy, better grip on the snow under acceleration and improved maneuverability. Mountain side driving is enhanced with 1″ narrower running boards and the optimal shape of the footrest, tunnel support and skid plate allowing the driver to move their feet forward on the rounded tunnel edge for maximum ergonomic options. The Ascender Mountain body is 3″ narrower than the original ProClimb® body for easier hillside riding and better grip in deep snow. It is also 1 lb (0.45 kg) lighter, but stronger, than the original ProClimb body and offers easier access to under-hood service items.

ARCTIC MOUNTAIN FRONT SUSPENSION

The Arctic Mountain Front Suspension (AMS) features mountain-specific geometry, rods and wishbones to help maneuver the vehicle through deep snow. The 27-degree caster angle of the rods allows for optimal ski camber for off-trail turns and more predictable countersteering, especially on the side of the mountain. The lightweight forged aluminum rods have minimal surface area, which reduces drag and improves performance in deep snow. In addition, the high-strength, dual-phase alloy steel A-arms are lightweight and durable.

DRIVE SHAFT LOWERED BY 1.125″ (2.86 CM)

The 1.125″ lowered driveshaft provides 3″ more clearance between the track and the tunnel, which allows us to use eight-tooth sprockets on this model, giving a flatter approach angle and improving floatability and maneuverability. In addition, you’ll also see a huge difference in your handling of the machine. This upgrade ensures a more efficient transfer of power to the snow, giving you more power on slopes, cuttings, mountainsides or in the backcountry.

FLOAT-ACTION REAR SUSPENSION

Arctic Cat’s 2019 FLOAT-ACTION rear suspension has been upgraded to two 8-inch-diameter rear tension pulleys and 5.5-inch slide-mounted wheels for improved durability. Compared to 2015 and older models, the FLOAT-ACTION suspension incorporates geometry designed specifically for the mountain with a longer rear arm pull rod and a redesigned track profile that maintains consistent track tension throughout the travel range. A longer front arm shock absorber works with the traction rod to increase front arm travel, which improves ride performance in all conditions, especially on very rough terrain. The FLOAT-ACTION suspension is available in three lengths to accommodate the 141″, 153″ and 162″ tracks.

ARCTIC MOUNTAIN TRAINING SYSTEM

The Arctic Drive system combines TVC’s drive pulley and driven pulley to provide a combination of smooth shifting, optimum performance and maximum durability, great functionality and weight reduction. The new drive pulley features a roller bearing on the shaft that allows for self-adjustment of belt tension and ensures consistent performance without manual adjustments. It also allows for a 12.5% reduction in actual starting ratio (while maintaining the higher ratio) for smoother engagement and less belt wear at starting speeds, with force more evenly distributed to reduce belt stress. This design is unique to Arctic Cat.
