FRAME PROTOUR

The ProTour chassis is the lightest, strongest and most efficient touring chassis in Arctic Cat history. Both driver and passenger enjoy a neutral driving position, ideal for long-distance touring enthusiasts. It incorporates aluminum extrusions, stampings, forgings and castings in a configuration that raises the bar for high-tech construction. The forged steering housing unites many of the frame’s load-bearing components.

PROTOUR WT CHASSIS

The ProUte WT chassis is a platform for what may be the most functional snowmobiles ever developed. The ProUte WT is designed for our 20″ wide track. Whether you’re towing or going on a long ride, you’ll enjoy three seats. There’s never been a chassis that performs better.

SUSPENSION ARCTIC RACE

The Arctic Race Suspension (ARS) combines tall ski rods and widely spaced A-arms for maximum stiffness and torsional strength. The lower A-arms are attached to the frame at an angle to its centerline, at optimal caster and camber angles to improve comfort and traction in turns while reducing bump jounce. The one-piece rod design with ball joints eliminates the additional weight and static friction found when the rods are placed inside the housing.

SLIDE-ACTION REAR SUSPENSION

The SLIDE-ACTION suspension incorporates Arctic Cat’s torque-sensitive link, allowing for lower, more consistent track tension; three rear coupling block adjustment positions; adjustable spring preload; and a new three-pulley rear tensioner assembly for improved performance. The SLIDE-ACTION design relies on the unique front arm that features a “U” slot that fits over a fixed shaft to allow for a half-inch of slip. This retains the full benefit of the rear coupling – controlled (or eliminated) ski lift during acceleration – while allowing full use of the front shaft travel at all times.

XTRA-ACTION REAR SUSPENSION

This articulated system allows the rear of the suspension to move up and down in tougher snow, giving you a more maneuverable and versatile machine. The reverse gear in the unlocked position allows the rear of the frame to rise up instead of sinking into the snow. For more traction, simply lock the track gear and you’ll have a straight slide suspension that makes full use of the track.

ARCTIC DRIVE SYSTEM

The Arctic Drive system combines TVC’s drive pulley and driven pulley to provide a combination of smooth shifting, optimum performance and maximum durability, great functionality and weight reduction. The new drive pulley features a roller bearing on the shaft that allows for self-adjustment of belt tension and ensures consistent performance without manual adjustments. It also allows for a 12.5% reduction in actual starting ratio (while maintaining the higher ratio) for smoother engagement and less belt wear at starting speeds, with force more evenly distributed to reduce belt stress. This design is unique to Arctic Cat.
