Transportation on snow: this was the problem Joseph-Armand Bombardier wanted to solve when he designed the first Ski-Doo snowmobile. It was imperative to find a way to transport people and their supplies through snowy areas so that they could survive the rigors of winter. The snowmobile had to be reliable, efficient in deep snow and capable of towing a sled full of wood and supplies.

For BRP engineers, these features are still part of the design goals for today’s 2019 Ski-Doo Skandic models. The unique LTS telescopic front suspension and distinctive hull design allow them to glide over deep snow with unparalleled ease. The long, wide track gives them outstanding flotation and traction in both deep and packed snow. Reversing in powder is made easier with features like the articulated SC-5U rear suspension, which can also be locked for heavy-duty towing, as well as the Synchromesh suspension with high and low speeds.

Of course, all these features are useless without the power of a reliable engine. Peace of mind for consumers who choose Skandic is provided by a choice of four engines known for their reliability: the Rotax 600 H.O. E-TEC two-stroke, the ultra-efficient 900 and 600 ACE four-stroke engines and the durable 550 Fan two-stroke. Each ACE engine features BRP’s exclusive Intelligent Throttle Control (iTC), with three riding modes (ECO, Standard and Sport) and a twistable throttle. The Skandic 550 Fan package offers consumers one of the best value in the sport-utility segment.

2019 Ski-Doo Sport Utility Packages

SWT: The widest track in the industry offering unmatched traction and flotation.

WT: Utility snowmobile that offers off-trail performance and towing capabilities.

Ski-Doo Skandic SWT

OVERVIEW
A workhorse, the Skandic SWT with its massive 24″ x 156″ track sets the standard for traction and flotation, allowing it to travel previously unthinkable routes to hunting camp or across swamps. And in addition to getting to places that other snowmobiles can’t, it can do so while carrying the necessary equipment and supplies. BRP Ski-Doo engineers know that time is precious for Skandic riders. That’s why it’s available with ultra-reliable engines with exceptional cold-weather starting capabilities that require minimal maintenance.

Capable of towing over 510 kg (1100 lbs) with ease in the toughest conditions, the Skandic SWT is the ideal tool for almost any winter task. The engine packages feature a fan cooling system (high efficiency radiator on the 900 ACE) for worry-free towing.

PLATFORM
REV-XU Platform: Durable, versatile and lightweight, the REV-XU platform architecture ensures your comfort in all positions. Whether you’re sitting or standing, it allows you to adopt casual or performance driving styles. The driver can stretch his or her legs with a more forward foot position.

SUSPENSION
SC-5U Rear Suspension: Designed to provide a refined yet versatile ride, both on the trail and over the powder. This sport-utility suspension features an articulating rail to maximize traction in deep snow when reversing and is lockable for towing.

Suspension avant LTS : La suspension télescopique et la large coque à l’avant du véhicule sont les principaux éléments responsables des capacités inégalées en neige profonde de cette motoneige.

CHOICE OF ROTAX ENGINES

600 H.O. E-TEC Engine: The benchmark in the 600cc engine class for fuel economy, oil consumption, smooth operation and ease of use. Fuel economy is up to 11.3 L/100 km on the trail. Virtually no smoke or odor and easy starting. Storage preparations are a breeze with the automatic storage feature.

900 ACE Engine: 4-stroke, in-line 3-cylinder engine with Advanced Combustion Efficiency (EFI) ACE technology producing 90 hp. Low fuel consumption (up to 10.8 L/100 km) and low maintenance. Includes electronically controlled Intelligent Throttle Control (iTC) with three driving modes (Sport, Standard, ECO), a learning key and fingertip throttle.

Ski-Doo Skandic 2019 WT

OVERVIEW
Work doesn’t stop in winter, and neither does the Skandic WT. With a large footprint and outstanding flotation on deep snow, consumers can get to where the work is waiting, with a choice of four high-reliability engines: the 900 ACE, 600 ACE, 600 H.O. E-TEC and 550 Fan. Each is equipped with a radiator (high efficiency on four-stroke engines) and fan to improve towing capacity without overheating.
