Few people have the courage to face winter when it hits. Even fewer have the ambition to work and even stay in the harshest winter conditions. Those who relish the worst winter conditions and those who have no choice but to face them are the valiant hearts that give their all when it comes to facing the most brutal climates of the long freezing nights of winter. They don’t just choose this lifestyle, they love it! And the new 2020 Ski-Doo Expedition is just like them.

These are the snowmobilers who demand peak capability at times, only to seek out five-star casual comfort. They love high-precision performance, as much as they need power and torque. For them, traction, flotation, power to pull a load, performance in tight turns and the ability to dominate rough terrain are essential, on every ride. Not to mention that they rarely do anything without tools, an ice fishing hut or a passenger – and sometimes all three at the same time.

For 2020, Ski-Doo is definitely meeting the needs of these snowmobilers with the Expedition family of models featuring the all-new 20-inch REV Gen4 platform. This latest Ski-Doo innovation revolutionizes the sport-utility segment in almost every way possible. From the most advanced Rotax two-stroke and four-stroke engines, to even more agile responses, to a transmission with simplified shifting, to quick-activating reverse and improved passenger grips, no detail has been spared. The result? Uncompromising, high-performance sport-utility models that offer an absolutely unparalleled experience.

For the first time ever, Expedition buyers will be able to choose between the 850 E-TEC, 600R E-TEC and 550 Fan two-stroke engines, and the 900 ACE Turbo, 900 ACE naturally aspirated and 600 ACE four-stroke engines. Because consumers in this market segment have unique power needs, BRP offers an option for virtually every buyer with a wide variety of packages.

The Expedition LE, SE and Extreme models are built on the new 50.8 cm (20″) REV Gen4 platform. This new chassis, designed to accept 50.8 cm tracks, also offers all the industry-leading benefits found in the Trail, Hybrid and Mountain segments – plus some additional features specific to the sport-utility segment of snowmobiling.

At the center of these innovations is the REV Gen4’s centralized mass, which provides precision handling and reduces riding effort, both off- and on-trail. Those who use their snowmobile for its utility capabilities know that a few extra ounces can make a big difference and eat up a lot of energy at the end of a long day. The open cockpit allows the rider to choose his or her riding style according to the terrain and preferences.

This effortless ride is facilitated by the RAS 3 front suspension, which has quickly become the standard for highly versatile handling, and the SC-5U rear suspension, which is capable of handling any terrain. The SC-5U articulated rear suspension offers even more benefits when reversing in deep snow and when hitting the trails at speed. The driver can also use the lockout feature to select the high position for better trail turns, and the low position for pulling heavy loads when needed.

With the introduction of the 50.8 x 391 cm (20 x 154 in.) tracks, these snowmobiles can now be used for deep snow adventures. The attention to detail that went into the creation of this remarkably versatile new Expedition platform will catch the eye of discerning buyers. With a multi-speed transmission, extremely easy-to-use reverse gearing, exceptional rider and passenger comfort, and outstanding storage capabilities, these snowmobiles are game changers in the sport-utility segment.

A true workhorse, the Expedition SWT (Super Wide Track) returns in 2020 with its ultra-wide 61.0 cm (24″) track. With the remarkable flotation provided by its impressive footprint, this wide track provides superior traction on and off the trail to tow heavy loads and get them where they’re needed. Built on the rugged REV-XU platform and powered by the efficient Rotax 900 ACE engine, this version is a model of strength and durability.

The 2020 lineup also offers changes to the Expedition Sport REV Gen4 model with a new digital instrument panel and the option of an upgraded Rotax 600 ACE four-stroke engine with increased power and enhanced electrical system to accommodate more accessories. The 900 ACE engine is also available for the Expedition Sport REV Gen4.

The Expedition Sport 550 Fan on the REV-XP platform returns to offer a more affordable option. The combination of this lightweight yet rugged architecture and the reliable

Rotax 550 Fan sets the standard for affordable sport-utility snowmobiles with maximum capability.

SKI-DOO EXPEDITION XTREME 2020

OVERVIEW

With the bodywork of a utility snowmobile and the attitude of a rally car, the 2020 Expedition Xtreme further blurs the line between work and play. Moving to the REV Gen4 platform with the incredible power and dynamic response of the Rotax 850 E-TEC, the new Expedition Xtreme redefines the very foundation of the sport-utility snowmobile.

The REV Gen4 platform’s narrower cockpit, centralized mass of the Xtreme design and dedicated rider space provide effortless handling in deep snow. These same features also allow the rider to drive as aggressively as he or she wants when hitting the trails. Its wide Cobra WT track measuring 50.8 x 391 x 4.6 cm (20 x 154 x 1.8 in.) has a footprint and profile that provides exceptional flotation and traction for trail riding and towing.

The Xtreme’s incredible trail and off-road capabilities also come from the RAS 3 front suspension and DS 3 skis. The adjustable ski spacing of 97.5 to 101.9 cm (38.4 to 40.1 in.) allows the driver to adjust the stability and maneuverability of the ride. The SC-5U rear suspension, meanwhile, is designed for utility needs in deep snow, but both suspensions are equipped with the same set of shocks proven on Ski-Doo high-performance snowmobiles – the KYB HPG Plus front and center shocks, and the easy-to-adjust KYB Pro 36 rear shock.

By uniquely combining the DNA of deep snow models with utility styling and features, the Expedition Xtreme redefines the standard for off-road snowmobiles in the sport-utility segment. The utility side of things stands out with features like a fan-assisted radiator that keeps the 850 E-TEC engine cool in particularly demanding situations. Not to mention the rear bumper and the new Multi-LinQ plate on the tunnel that increases durability and functionality. Capable of accommodating LinQ accessories from 16 to 20 inches, the Xtreme allows for an almost infinite number of storage configurations and customizable accessories to create the sport-utility snowmobile as unique as its owner.

2020 SKI-DOO EXPEDITION SE

OVERVIEW

Known for offering the ultimate in versatility and comfort, the new 2020 Expedition SE moves to the REV Gen4 platform with an incredible amount of features and amenities in a great-looking package. Equally at home hitting the trails or slaloming through deep snow before heading out to the day’s tasks, the Expedition SE is a powerful, practical, capable and comfortable vehicle.

The move to the REV Gen4 platform further enhances the Expedition SE’s reputation as a multi-purpose snowmobile. With Ski-Doo’s most advanced platform to date, the SE gives the rider ultimate control over the vehicle’s centralized weighted chassis. Because the sled responds instantly to the rider’s commands, maneuvering in deep snow is effortless, and trail performance becomes second nature.

Reliability and fun come standard with a choice of three dynamic Rotax engines: the 600R E-TEC two-stroke, the naturally aspirated 900 ACE four-stroke and the 900 ACE Turbo four-stroke. All three come with BRP’s legendary Rotax durability that provides worry-free days for those who work in the wilderness, and exhilarating power that can turn a frigid winter day into an endless playground.

Clearly designed to satisfy consumers in the sport-utility segment, the Expedition SE is fully equipped for versatility and comfort. First, the SE comes standard with a 20 x 154 x 1.5-inch Silent Cobra track, or with an optional 20 x 154 x 1.8-inch pre-clipped Silent Cobra track to allow the snowmobiler to traverse the vast expanse of powder and to firmly grip the snow when towing heavy loads.

Other standard utility features include the new LinQ utility storage box with a 135-liter storage capacity, the new Multi-LinQ plate that allows the operator to customize the snowmobile with an impressive number of LinQ accessory combinations, and a hitch receiver that can mount a winch capable of pulling up to 680 kg (1,500 lbs).

The Expedition SE is loaded with comfort features that defy the stereotypes associated with rugged utility snowmobiles. The adjustable handlebar riser block with variable diameter can be adjusted to provide the ultimate in rider comfort. Ski spacing adjusts from 38.4″ to 40.1″, and the all-new H-L-N transmission with multiple gear ratios and button reverse makes it easy to get the job done, day after day.

The removable two-person seat increases versatility, comfort and adjustability for both driver and passenger, while the high windshield and wide REV Gen4 side panels protect occupants from the elements when conditions get rough. Meanwhile, the Air Controlled Suspension (ACS) allows the driver to use a button to adjust the rear suspension without stopping the vehicle.

2020 SKI-DOO EXPEDITION LE

OVERVIEW

With its upgrade to the industry-leading REV Gen4 platform, the Expedition LE offers more benefits to snowmobilers than ever before. Starting with the front suspension, the RAS 3 improves handling by giving the rider ultimate control in deep snow, as well as incredibly precise handling on trails – both on smooth surfaces and unpredictable terrain.

REV Gen4 side panels are specially designed to protect the driver and passenger from the elements on every ride. The standard high windshield provides even more protection when Mother Nature strikes. The REV Gen4’s open cockpit adds a touch of luxury to the LE’s design and provides plenty of room for the driver to drive aggressively or casually, as desired.

A new 50.8 x 391 x 3.8 cm (20 x 154 x 1.5 in.) Silent Cobra WT track mounted on the familiar SC-5U rear suspension enhances the experience with a quiet ride. The large footprint allows for confident driving on deep snow and provides excellent traction on rough trails.

With BRP’s lineup of reliable and rugged two-stroke and four-stroke engines, Expedition LE buyers can choose from several powerful and efficient options. Among the engines available are the Rotax 600R E-TEC two-stroke, and the naturally-aspirated ACE 900 and ACE Turbo four-strokes. These engines are at the top of their class for both reliability and fuel economy, ensuring that the snowmobiler’s vehicle will always be able to meet his needs.

The package wouldn’t be complete without attention to detail, including features such as a removable two-passenger seat with ergonomic backrest, wide-opening running boards for better snow evacuation, and a new, easy-to-read 11.4 cm (4.5″) digital display with a flat viewing angle to present important information visibly in all conditions and driving positions.
