This conquering attitude is backed by a new dose of competence with the REV Gen4 platform that now serves as the new architecture for all three new Skandic models in 2021: the Skandic SWT, Skandic WT and the all-new Skandic Sport. The ultra-dynamic chassis provides an agile and maneuverable ride – two words rarely associated with utility snowmobiles – that combines with an industry-leading degree of flotation and adaptability.
And with the move to the REV Gen4 platform, Skandic models can be powered by the latest Rotax engines. The Rotax engine lineup for the ultimate sport-utility snowmobile now includes the 600R E-TEC and the new 600 EFI two-stroke, and the 900 ACE and 600 ACE four-stroke.
Up front, a redesigned telescopic suspension with extreme shock compression protection and shock body heat management handles the steering for more consistent performance in all situations. Combined with the new Pilot 7.4 deep-keel skis, the result is surgical precision on hard-packed trails, high off-piste maneuverability and improved reverse.
At the rear, under the tunnel, is the SC-5U articulated suspension that has become a mainstay of the sport-utility snowmobile industry. The articulated rear section provides a shorter trail feel and improves reversing in deep snow to a remarkable degree. Plus, it can be locked for towing, making the Skandic incredibly versatile.
Meanwhile, Ski-Doo’s exclusive Multi-LinQ plate makes an appearance on the rear tunnel to multiply versatility. Introduced in 2019, this pearl of functionality has quickly become the sport-utility snowmobiler’s best friend due to the unprecedented level of functionality it provides. The Skandic SWT incredibly redefines the concept of boundless travel, with a massive 24″ x 154″ x 1.5″ track located underneath the agile REV Gen4 chassis. The unit responds instantly to the driver’s commands, whether floating effortlessly on deep snow, towing equipment on trails or crossing frozen lakes. The ride is also made easier by a redesigned telescopic front suspension with improved resistance to extreme compression and better shock heat management. These noteworthy improvements increase front steering consistency, which reduces driver fatigue in demanding terrain. Agile responses and increased bump absorption help the driver handle the vehicle more easily and conserve energy for the tasks at hand.
Rotax’s advanced engines also have their part to play. For 2021, the 600R E-TEC two-stroke makes its debut with 125 horsepower in a lightweight, powerful package with instant acceleration. Offering 95 horsepower, the 900 ACE four-stroke returns to provide an efficient, high-torque choice. Both engines are perfectly balanced in the center of the snowmobile to increase maneuverability, and are accompanied by an air-cooled radiator that improves cooling when the work gets demanding.

The new Easy-Shift transmission was designed to simplify driving and increase peace of mind. The multiple gear ratio design allows for effortless shifting as needed to easily handle high load situations. Optimized lubrication increases reliability, and the reverse button makes driving easier.
