2022 New Arctic Cat Snowmobiles. The current unprecedented economic conditions have had a positive impact on the recreational vehicle industry. Snowmobile sales have reached almost unprecedented heights and all manufacturers have benefited from this enthusiasm. Inventories are at their lowest and this enthusiasm has motivated designers to once again be bold enough to offer models that will certainly meet the needs of a larger clientele.

The Minnesota-based manufacturer will celebrate 60 years of existence in 2022. This important milestone and longevity at Arctic Cat will once again bring us great innovations and new features for the models that will mark this milestone in their history. In fact, each Arctic Cat 2022 snowmobile will be adorned with a commemorative emblem to mark this milestone.

The Minnesota-based manufacturer is once again focusing on marketing and enticing consumers with a spring pre-order period called SNOWMAGEDDON. This period offers the opportunity to purchase exclusive models, a 2-year warranty and lower prices. Here is a summary of Arctic Cat’s changes for the upcoming season.

Power steering on a Turbo snowmobile:

What can be done to improve the best performing production snowmobile? For 2022, Arctic Cat will be the first manufacturer to offer a turbocharged snowmobile with electronic power steering. The now renamed ZR Thundercat 9000 will be equipped with this assistance for a better trail experience. Especially noticeable at low speeds, but to help lighten the weight attributed to the front end of this snowmobile, this electronic power steering will provide more comfortable rides, help greatly in attacking curves with more confidence and lessen the fatigue factor on long rides.

As an added bonus, Arctic Cat also equips this new Thundercat EPS with the revolutionary ATAC suspension that can be adjusted on the fly with the simple touch of a thumb on the left handle to electronically adjust the FOX ZERO IQS rear and front. With the touch of a button, 3 presets can be selected: choose between soft, medium and firm suspension settings to get exactly the ride you need for whatever the day throws at you in less than 1/2 a second. It allows for pre-programming to switch between 2 riders to optimize performance for different conditions and riding styles. ATAC’s adjustable suspension automatically adjusts shock calibration when reversing for better maneuverability.

It is important to mention that the Thundercat 9000 is also available in its version without the addition of the power steering for those who do not want to pay extra for this new feature on this model.

A new clutch:

All Arctic Cat full-size snowmobiles for 2022 will receive a new clutch called ADAPT. According to information received, this new clutch should perform better and be easier to maintain. With its lighter weight and narrower design, it will provide constant tension to maximize performance, minimize wear and extend belt life. This ADAPT clutch will provide lower inertia, more instantaneous response for consistent performance.

According to information received, Arctic Cat will offer this new clutch in its catalog of customization parts for snowmobilers who want to optimize their 2021 and earlier snowmobiles.

The BLAST family is growing:

Arctic Cat introduced its BLAST snowmobile line for the 2021 model year. This lightweight, near-full-size entry-level snowmobile was designed for young enthusiasts, learner riders and snowmobilers who are getting back into the sport. A single-cylinder, two-stroke, electric-starting, fuel-injected engine with 65 hp allows anyone to enjoy snowmobiling at a low cost of ownership. These models have a Quebec flavor, as they are equipped with CVTech’s Trailbloc clutch.

This year marks the return of the BLAST M 4000, BLAST ZR 4000 and BLAST LT 4000 models. However, there are 2 additions to this list, the BLAST XR 4000 and the BLAST XR TOURING 4000.

BLAST XR 4000 and XR TOURING 4000:

The BLAST series expands into the hybrid category with the introduction of the XR models equipped with a 146 inch track. The BLAST XR will be equipped with a 146 x 1.6 Cobra track for better flotation in a multitude of conditions while the XR TOURING will be equipped with a 146 x 1.25 RIPSAW track for better trail performance. The TOURING model will also have a rear overload spring to accommodate a passenger. Up front, the XR will have an adjustable distance between the skis from 37.5 to 38.5 inches while the XR TOURING model can be adjusted from 39.5 to 40.5 inches with a stabilizer bar. The XR is equipped with a 4 inch windshield while the TOURING model has a 15.5 inch windshield for better wind protection.

The variety offered in the BLAST versions will surely seduce a larger number of enthusiasts without ruining their bank accounts. They come standard with a reverse gear, electric starter, heated grips and thumbs, and all the equipment needed to practice snowmobiling with peace of mind.

The enhanced crossover category:

2022 New Arctic Cat Snowmobiles

Arctic Cat is back once again with its highly coveted RIOT snowmobiles in the hybrid category equipped with a 146-inch track. They surprised us with the introduction in 2021 of the RIOT X combined with the ALPHA ONE monorail, which in its case, let’s face it, is a 70/30 snowmobile. Apart from the addition of the new ADAPT clutch, the most notable novelty is the addition of the ATAC suspension on these two models. We can now adapt the suspension of the RIOT versions with ATAC. With the push-button control with three firmness settings, combined with FOX IQS shocks, lockout mode and two individual rider profiles, we can ride the trails according to our preferences and conditions without interruption.

Des nouveautés dans les motoneiges de montagne:

Arctic Cat revolutionized the mountain snowmobile category with the introduction of its ALPHAONE monorail. For 2022, Arctic Cat has added a 146 inch / 2.6 version to its Hardcore ALPHA ONE model previously available in 154 or 165 inch / 2.6. or 3.0.

On the Mountain Cat ALPHA ONE side, the ATAC suspension was introduced in 2021 in the 165-inch version and is now available for 2022 in the 154-inch version for quicker and easier adjustment to conditions.

These 2 models designed for mountainous terrain climbs as well as powder as far as the eye can see are equipped with the Powder Claw track. It’s lightweight with a single-ply design and a 3-inch inclusion, all so we can easily ride trails with deep snow. Its forward-curved, offset paddles won’t bend or warp. Plus, the Attack 20 paddles allow us to float on deep snow.

The ZR series:

The line of snowmobiles designed primarily for trails returns in 2022 virtually copied and pasted from 2021, with the exception of the ADAPT clutch that now equips them. These snowmobiles are favored by long-distance trail riders because of their 137-inch configurations. This doesn’t mean that they can’t go off-piste, but they do require vigilance to avoid getting stuck in deep snow. However, we still question Arctic Cat’s stubbornness in staying away from the 129-inch track sport snowmobile category to compete with the competition in this category.

The sport utility category is always present:

Arctic Cat is back once again with its Norseman 800 model powered by the new-generation 165-hp C-TEC2 engine. The only change noted is the introduction of the new ADAPT clutch.

Young people are not forgotten:

Nothing better to educate our children for a safe practice of snowmobiling than to introduce them to the Arctic Cat ZR 120 snowmobiles, then to the ZR 200 and the BLAST model in a logical continuation. These models are back almost unchanged for 2022 to our great pleasure, because these young riders will be the next generation of tomorrow. The only change is the new torsion spring on the ZR 120, which is powered by a fan-cooled Yamaha 4-stroke engine limited to 8 mph.

As for the ZR 200, the Snowmobile Safety and Certification Committee (SSCC) has approved this snowmobile with full trail certification that allows your young rider to follow you virtually anywhere (as long as he or she complies with the current regulations).

2022 New Arctic Cat Snowmobiles Conclusion

the Thief River Falls, Minnesota-based manufacturer may not be making any major changes for the 2022 season, but it will certainly be perfecting its coveted and admired snowmobiles. It offers an impressive variety of models that will appeal to anyone and everyone, and to any budget.
