The 2022 New Polaris snowmobiles. There’s no secret that Polaris is a leader in the snowmobile industry because it listens to its customers. It offers exactly what they want and that is the reason for its success year after year. The 2022 new Polaris snowmobiles models and a new engine to its loyal customers. Consumers are increasingly demanding, and Polaris strives to offer snowmobiles that meet the requirements of enthusiasts right out of the box without having to make subsequent improvements.

However, the most attractive models are the ones available for pre-order this spring: built in the spirit of the original 1976 Starfire snowmobile, the new Starfire series represents the ultra-premium, high-performance range of Polaris snowmobiles. These are the most exclusive snowmobile models, available only during SnowCheck.

2022 New Polaris snowmobilesINDY XCR:

The XCR nomination needs no introduction. This snowmobile has an enviable reputation for performance and agility to dominate the most challenging terrain. This exclusive 2022 model is presented with the rider-centric Matryx chassis and is available with the 650 and 850cc Patriot engines. Presented in 2 configurations, the INDY XCR 128 offers precise cornering and big-bump capabilities while the INDY XCR 136 offers versatility and superior big-bump capability.

The 7S display with Ride Command includes vehicle-to-vehicle tracking, vehicle diagnostics and electronically controlled SmartWarmers. Nightblade headlight leads the way, and an all-new magnetic tether provides a secure solution with seamless connectivity.

This cross-country snowmobile features Walker Evans 2-inch adjustable high/low compression shocks for adjustment to rider preference. They feature high-end technology, with high and low speed compression adjustment to match the ride.

2022 New Polaris snowmobilesINDY VR1:

The 650 and 850 Indy VR1 models return as the most complete models in the Polaris lineup during SnowCheck. In addition to the above benefits, the VR1s add the large 7S Ride Command touchscreen that puts GPS-style mapping, group functions and more at the fingertips of snowmobilers. If you haven’t had a chance to try this tool, you owe it to yourself to do so, because it really is a game changer.

The VR1 also returns with a carbon fiber overlay and Walker Evans Velocity shocks. The VR1 models are “Starfire Series” snowmobiles, so they are only available to those who order soon. They are available with 129- and 137-inch tracks.

PRO RMK SLASH and RMK KHAOS SLASH:

This should make it easier for many buyers. Want the turbo? First of all, MATRYX SLASH snowmobiles are the only mountain models that will offer the option of having the Patriot Boost engine. Your two choices are : RMK KHAOS MATRYX SLASH or PRO RMK MATRYX SLASH. For those not ready to commit to the new turbo, the 650 Patriot and 850 Patriot engines will also be offered in these models.

The MATRYX SLASH snowmobiles in the PRO RMK and RMK KHAOS model groups will be the most advanced and capable models in the Polaris 2022 mountain snowmobile lineup. Polaris describes them as sled mods straight from the factory.

So what’s different besides the new Patriot Boost engine?

A specific option that many mountain snowmobilers have been asking for: MATRYX SLASH snowmobiles feature a 5″ shorter tunnel than their standard MATRYX counterpart, as well as a short snowflap. As a result, these models come straight from the factory with specifications that many enthusiasts previously customized.

For many, there are advantages to having a tunnel and a shorter snowflap. The result is less drag in the snow, better snow removal, better wheelies, and a better all-around package for the mountain enthusiast.

In an effort to reduce weight, the MATRYX SLASH snowmobiles will feature a smaller, more centralized cooling system. This will reduce the dry weight compared to the original MATRYX versions, but more importantly, there should also be less snow accumulation at the back of the tunnel.

In addition, these new models feature Walker Evans shocks and the 7S Ride Command display.

2022 New Polaris snowmobilesSWITHCBACK ASSAULT:

The Assault has remained largely unchanged as Polaris’ primary 50/50 extreme crossover machine, as it received the Matryx upgrades last year. However, it has joined the Starfire series for 2022. Returning features include the 7S gauge with mapping, Bluetooth and Group Ride functions, and Walker Evans Velocity shocks. The Switchback Assault can be ordered with a 1.35- or 1.6-inch Cobra 146 track, a 1.5-inch Ice Storm or a 2-inch Crossover track. Powder Trac running boards are added to the list of off-road features.

The Polaris Switchback XC, available during the season, meanwhile, gets QS3 shocks and a message center gauge, following the trend set in the trail lineup with the VR1 versus the Indy XC. Its track options range from 146-inch Cobras with 1.352 or 1.6-inch lugs.

A racing snowmobile! Why not?

Polaris also announced that it will offer a new 600-class racing snowmobile for 2022. The 600 INDY Cross-country will be a limited-build snowmobile available only to those who apply through the Polaris racing program. It features a 600 Cleanfire with a tighter tolerance for better performance than the old 600.

This snowmobile will also feature stronger, stiffer components, including in the 136-inch Pro CC rear suspension that will have sloping rails in the back. But again, this is a race-only application. A separate, snowcross-specific racing snowmobile will be unveiled in the fall of 2022.

RMK KHAOS MATRYX and PRO RMK MATRYX

In addition to the AXYS platform we all know and love, for 2022, Polaris mountain snowmobiles will move primarily to the MATRYX platform.

We have seen a limited version of the MATRYX platform for the 2021 model year in a few INDY and Switchback Assault models. However, MATRYX is the way to go. Polaris says the MATRYX platform uses its most advanced technology, such as molded and bonded parts, to improve the handling and deep snow performance of the AXYS platform for mountain snowmobilers.

While the MATRYX uses much of the same chassis design as its predecessor, the biggest change is the way the pilot’s cockpit area is designed and shaped. Basically, the interface is narrower (less clutter), allowing the pilot to move more naturally.

A new utility snowmobile:

The Matryx chassis also enters the Polaris utility range for 2022 in the form of the new Polaris 650 Voyageur 146, as well as the new sister machine to the Voyageur, the Nordic Pro 650, which will only be available in Scandinavia and Russia.

The Voyageur 146 is featured on the Matryx chassis including the Nightblade LED headlight, modern handlebar controls and more. For utility use, it gets wide skis and a 146-inch Cobra track with 1.6-inch lugs and IGX rear suspension. There’s also a large rear storage rack and a tow hook. As for the Nordic Pro, it goes even further, with a 2-inch track and the 7S digital display.

We’d like to point out that the rugged Titan models return unchanged as the only Polaris models that still use the 800 Cleanfire engine. A big new feature for 2022 is the new optional storage compartment.

POLARIS INDY ADVENTURE model:

The Indy Adventure 650 and 850, now based on the Matryx chassis, take much of Polaris’ goal of moving to the VR1 side and add some features while subtracting others. Think of the Adventures as 137-inch, all-season VR1s, with easy-adjust Fox QS3 shocks in place of Walkers and an aluminum superstructure.

However, the Adventures get a few extra features, including a large front bumper, mirrors and a large tunnel bag to give it its own grand touring personality. And, of course, the 7S screen functionality will be perfect for snowmobilers.

In conclusion, the manufacturer Polaris offers a very wide range of snowmobiles for all types of enthusiasts in the variety of styles, colors, engine power, applications, etc. The best advice we can give you is to visit a dealership to get a closer look at the snowmobile that will suit your preferences exactly.
