What’s most important to some snowmobilers is acceleration, speed and adrenaline-filled power, all of which allows them to take the lead quickly, very quickly.  What they’re looking for is the exhilarating feeling of high speed, and in 2022 they’ll find it with the return of the legendary Ski-DOO Mach Z.

Yes, it’s true: it’s back! But only this year. On a one-year recall, the Mach Z returns in 2022 with a delinquent look and performance that will inspire its followers.

Mach Z enthusiasts have always valued two qualities: power and speed. While both of these characteristics remain important, this latest iteration is equipped to dominate the competition well beyond the finish line of regional speed races. Snowmobilers will discover features that thoroughly modernize and redefine the concept of performance in the muscle snowmobile category. Based on the agile and dynamic REV Gen4 platform and the industry’s best suspensions, rMotion X and RAS X with dual-pivot steering, the Mach Z offers precision handling, incredible comfort and superior versatility that make it both a great race vehicle and a great trail sled. With Smart-Shox, the first semi-active suspension system ever designed for snowmobiles, Mach Z riders get a level of handling and comfort unattainable on standard shocks. It even reacts to acceleration to maximize quick starts.

The heart of any muscle snowmobile is the engine, and the Mach Z features the NEW Rotax 900 ACE Turbo R powertrain that delivers a breathtaking 180 horsepower with exclusive throttle control. All of this power is transmitted through a reinforced pDrive drive pulley and a QRS vented driven pulley.

The engine and transmission certainly get the attention, but it’s the overall package that sets the Mach Z apart from other muscle machines by offering more than just high straight-line speeds. And when you add in the large, 7.8-inch wide color LCD display that features a colorful dashboard with Bluetooth applications for navigation, weather, helmet-to-helmet communication and more, the very notion of a muscle snowmobile takes on a whole new meaning.

SUSPENSION

NEW – Smart-Shox: For the first time in the industry, KYB’s advanced semi-active shock absorber technology combines with rMotion X and RAS X suspensions to deliver the best performance ever on a snowmobile. Snowmobilers get significantly better performance, control and comfort from a system that continuously consults engine and chassis data, including steering, to adjust shock damping levels as needed to avoid extreme compression, increase lateral stability and provide superior fore-aft stability. Selectable without stopping the vehicle, the three settings Comfort, Sport and Sport+ allow you to adapt your driving to the conditions. 

rMotion X 137 rear suspension: Designed to provide unmatched absorption, incredible comfort and superior cornering. The next standard in suspension. The rMotion X redefines the ability to absorb big bumps on the most demanding terrain, while improving overall handling with a longer front arm and adjustable angle design. And with the addition of the 137″ track, trail bumps disappear completely. KYB Pro 40 Center Shock: Exceptional shock capacity and durability for better control in the toughest conditions. Easy, tool-free compression adjustment knob.

RAS X front suspension: Stable cornering and precision handling in all conditions. Designed with the rMotion X rear suspension to redefine the performance standard for trail snowmobile chassis. Increased stability, capability and comfort with a wider 109.2 cm (43″) ski spread. 

Two-pivot steering system: Based on the MXZx racing model, this system increases steering precision and the ability to maintain a straight line over large bumps.

KEY FEATURES

NEW – Choice of two tracks

RipSaw 15″ x 137″ x 1.25″ (38 cm x 348 cm x 3.2 cm) track: Two-ply for greater durability. Standard 15″ (38 cm) width for easy turning and a 1.25″ (3.2 cm) profile. Excellent traction in all conditions.

Chenille Ice Ripper XT de 15 po x 137 po x 1.25 po (38 cm x 348 cm x 3.2 cm) :RipSaw derived track with carbide studs built into the profile for increased traction on icy surfaces.

Pilot X Skis: Completely redesigned to increase positive traction and reduce wandering. Features a 1/2″ (1.3 cm) carbide shaft for more aggressive cornering.

Trail seat with storage (4-stroke): Narrow front shape facilitates rider movement while riding aggressively. The wider, flatter rear improves comfort during long rides. 7 L rear storage.

REVISION – pDrive pulley : Same design, same features, but upgraded with new roller material and a stronger bowl to match the 900 ACE Turbo R engine. Completely redesigned clutch, with fast, frictionless dual rollers to transfer engine torque instead of the traditional knobs. Large rollers with needle bearings, wide seat centrifugal mass, and dual-axis design provide a smoother ride and longer life. Very light and maintenance-free, the pDrive provides extremely fast gear changes and remarkably consistent rpm. The fixed flange with fins to circulate more air is paired with the new belt guard to provide better airflow and cooling.

NEW – Black smoke windshield and handguards. 

NEW – Intelligent Throttle Control (iTC) for 900 ACE Turbo R: Designed with a longer-throw lever to better meet the needs of performance drivers in tough conditions as well as easier terrain, this exclusive system provides linear, predictable acceleration with three selectable driving modes (Sport, Standard, ECO) at any time. 

NEW – Reverse gear with button: A button on the handlebar engages the reverse gear – electromechanically with the ACE motors.

NEW – Ready for accessory installation: Two pairs of LinQ attachments installed on the tunnel. Each model is designed for easy installation of over 150 Ski-Doo accessories for the REV Gen4 platform: LinQ system, skid plates, vented side panel kit, LED auxiliary light, GPS receiver, 1+1 seat, windshield choices, and more.
