FOR THE STEEP AND DEEP CROWD 

Snowmobilers are explorers, especially deep snow riders, and with the wild west being the last frontier, it makes it especially interesting to explore with its vast amount of unsettled mountains and backcountry. To be complete in addressing deep snow exploring you also have to include northern Canada and Alaska – both have that unsettled ruggedness and copious amounts of snow that make them intriguing. What drives riders to these playgrounds is a feeling of freedom, peacefulness and heart pumping adrenaline all at once – part power, part serenity. It’s a struggle to even describe it. 

Throw in the extra physical exertion mixed with the extra freedom to carve your own path at will, go where no tracks have been seen since at least the last snowfall and those indescribable feelings only grow in amplitude. This is where “That Ski-Doo Feeling” is rooted. It’s something pursued by all, especially deep snow riders – and their thirst for it is what drives Ski-Doo in our sled development.

One of our answers to the pursuit is the Summit line of snowmobiles. The deep snow version of the REV Gen5 platform allows Summit riders to step up their game and push further into more backcountry playgrounds. All the Ski-Doo pioneered concepts of mass centralization (both front to back and side to side), open cockpit design, and short tunnel are present, letting riders move about freely while the balanced chassis allows input to be directed almost

telepathically. The agility and responsiveness are unmatched. A glance is all it takes to point it in the rider’s desired direction. 

The REV Gen5 starts with bodywork that’s shrink wrapped tighter and narrower than ever before, producing a very compact package that feels lighter, and is lighter by up to 16 pounds over previous designs, making it one of the lightest sleds on the market. It’s also narrower at the running boards by 3.1 inches while still offering a good platform for a rider’s feet, and those running boards are even better at evacuating snow and providing great grip. Combined with advanced rear suspensions, tracks and skis that are targeted specifically at improved side hilling performance in the steepest, most technical terrain – and you can see the basis for awesome days on the snow.

The REV Gen5’s athletic look incorporates LED headlights for those late day “shortcuts” that turn out to be longer than anticipated. Another part of the carefully sculpted bodywork benefits is improved air management, including engine intake and CVT cooling, which has been designed for less snow intrusion and better performance. In addition to the CVT cooling system, there’s also a chassis strategy that includes a fourth engine mount to further improve belt life and add more consistent performance. 

The realities of servicing have also been taken into account as access to many items is easier and there’s even a quick-removable drive axle and innovative suspension mounting to make track changes faster and easier. 

Power in the deep snow is paramount and the Rotax 850 E-TEC Turbo R delivers an industry benchmark 180 real horsepower up to 8000 feet and holds a consistent 55 horsepower gap over normally aspirated engines beyond that. Introduced three years ago with the promise of easy use and peace of mind that had never been seen in turbocharged two-strokes before, it has proven to be both reliable and seamless in performance from sea level to whatever altitude riders are at. The 850 E-TEC offers the same kind of proven and reliable non-turbo power to match buyer needs for their style of riding. Both Rotax engines are renowned for their instantaneous throttle response that pairs with the chassis’ quick, intuitive handling to let riders go more places with less effort. 

A huge energy saving feature for mountain riders everywhere is the standard SHOT starter for all Summit X with Expert Package, Summit X and Summit Adrenaline with the optional Edge package models. This feature is unique to Rotax E-TEC powered snowmobiles and coveted by many. Summit X and Adrenaline buyers have choices of SHOT, manual and electric start. 

Models in the Summit line match specific features with riders intended usage to make their days on snow the best they can be. The Summit X with Expert Package has a reputation for leading the super technical deep snow segment with innovation and uses the tMotion XT rear suspension with rigid rear arm and a full rod track for extra confidence in really steep, tight

terrain while the Summit X and Adrenaline models use a tMotion X with pivoting rear arm and FlexEdge track for easy rollup and a less fatiguing ride. Both can do it all, but each has those little differences that allow riders to choose their focus.

2024 also improves the connectivity for deep snow riders as the 10.25-inch Color Touchscreen Display can locate themselves with use of a cell phone. This display offers great features for systems monitoring, communication, navigation, media and the ability to add apps, but with the Wi-Fi connectivity it will also be able to update gauge software over the air for even more value down the road. 

Ski-Doo is again offering two calibrations for the drive train on Summit X and Expert package models with 850 E-TEC engines (only); One for high altitude, above 4,000 feet, and a sea level calibration for those who ride below 4,000 feet on select engine and track configurations.

As the undisputed leader in the snowmobile industry, Ski-Doo also supports the younger and new riders – and developed deep snow offerings to fit their needs. The Summit Neo and Neo + are mid-sized models perfectly powered for these riders to enjoy the thrill of the ride, but the smaller ergonomics are also perfectly tailored to fit them as well. With the reliable Rotax 600 EFI 2-stroke offering a lightweight ride in a narrowed chassis, these models will usher in new generations of snowmobilers.
