Among its thirty or so volunteers, the Eastern Townships Harfang Club is very proud to be able to count on the involvement of Donald Couturier, now 89 years old and still active. And don’t be mistaken, Donald is not there just as an extra.
Volunteer, snowmobile operator and mechanic responsible for equipment maintenance are his main tasks. Involved in the world of snowmobiling since the 70’s, he has even been a dealer for Moto-Ski and Yamaha. Donald is very familiar with what snowmobilers expect in terms of trail quality. When you have almost 50 years of experience in grooming, you probably have more to show than to learn. The quality of his trails is, as they say, still on the up and up and he is very proud of it. Donald hasn’t been snowmobiling for many years and for him, his snowmobile is his John Deere. Snowmobiling is not a job, he says, it’s my favorite activity and it keeps me in shape…
The club can also count on Donald’s experience in the mechanical field since he left the snowmobile business in the late 80’s and ended his career teaching mechanics. Preventive maintenance, lubrication, welding and minor work on equipment are part of his duties. He is also responsible for major work.
The Harfang de l’Estrie club is very grateful to its long time volunteer and wishes a Donald to all the other snowmobile club.
