It’s rare to see a brand dominate snocross racing as completely as Ski-Doo has done with its MXZx 600RS the past two seasons. Winning championship after championship in the Pro, Pro-Lite, Pro Women and several amateur championships in the ISOC snocross series – arguably the most competitive circuit – over the past two years, the MXZx 600RS has clearly demonstrated its superiority as a racing machine. Most people would tell Ski-Doo not to change anything from a winning model, but in the racing world, technology evolves quickly.
The MXZx 600RS E-TEC utilizes the industry-leading REV Gen4 platform with its open cockpit design and perfectly balanced engine in the center of the machine to provide superior ergonomics and handling in the most demanding conditions. The Gen4 configuration takes care of agility and responsiveness, while the Ergo Step side panels and beveled tunnel give the rider all the room he needs to dominate the track – without chassis interference. For 2021, visible changes hit the front end with new 46mm KYB Pro shocks that are normally available on a limited basis only to top teams. New integral base valves on all shocks allow for adjustment of not only high and low speed compression, but also high speed rebound. Based on driver feedback, the change in suspension calibration allows the new shocks to match the rest of the chassis perfectly.
Last year’s improvements are still part of the design. The rear of the chassis features the redesigned tunnel, heat exchanger, bumper and now a new SSCC compliant tail light. All shocks, including the new front shocks, use the integral base valve, originally designed for the stock shocks.
The rMotion 137 rear suspension features a robust rail design, unique travel geometry, and a proven starting device.
La suspension avant RAS 3 est dotée d’une longue jambe de force pour des virages plus rapides, et le système de direction assistée unique conçu pour la course offre une maniabilité sans effort et de haute précision.
The Rotax 600RS E-TEC engine features the ultra-fast response E-TEC direct injection system, perfectly calibrated for all altitudes and weather conditions so racers and their teams can focus on racing. New calibrations in the 2021 model refine mid-range starts and power. Not to mention the boost injection deployed for the first time on the Rotax 850 E-TEC, the short intake runner with dual poppet valves and the digital eRAVE technology.
