Renegade riders are rebels by definition – conforming isn’t their strong suit; they want to be free to adapt or break norms as needed. They want more freedom to choose everything about their day on the snow — and change it on the fly if need be. While they’ll likely spend most of their time on trails, some of their adventures might take them down something akin to a goat path or maybe untracked snow – and that’s when they want the confidence and versatile capability that Renegade models bring to keep the journey moving forward. It’s in this spirit that Ski-Doo develops the Renegade line of snowmobiles to be dynamic and high-spirited trail sleds, that offer premium performance and comfort amenities that riders who wander once in a while and can’t be neatly classified or fit into any one category appreciate.
The 2024 Renegades will continue to push boundaries with the new REV Gen5 platform that now features wider bodywork with a unique, aggressive look and a switch to primarily 4-stroke power plants. The combination is a natural as the optimized wind protection fits ideally for longer high-speed rides where 4 stroke engines are king.
The new platform retains all the great chassis attributes of agility, responsiveness and rider freedom to move around while adding highly desirable features like LED headlights for superb night vision, plus reduced noise, vibration and harshness for a better overall ride. They will also feature taller windshields and wider, plusher seats that allow these riders to stack mileage more easily. There’s the optional 10.25-inch Color Touchscreen Display featuring a premium look and feel with an emphasis on readability while riding plus simple and intuitive interfaces via touchscreen or hand controls for true ease of use – and this year GPS and embedded topographical maps are included. The customizable screen is sure to offer riders the view they seek.
The highest performance package Renegade X-RS continues to offer some extras like the new 4-piston brake caliper with adjustable lever that offers superb feel and fade resistant stopping power. Additionally, KYB Pro Series shocks or the availability of Smart-Shox are featured along with rack steering. The only engine choice will be the Rotax 900 ACE Turbo R which also has an optional LAUNCH MODE!!! – In both X-RS and X models. Another feature shared by X and X-RS models will be a taller front ride height than the base Adrenaline model for more bump absorbing capability while retaining precise cornering.
Ride quality is one of the Renegade’s strengths as it features industry bench suspensions front and rear with the RAS X and rMotion X systems – the capability to handle everything from stutter bumps to big nasty moguls is unmatched. The longer 137-inch track offers just enough extra floatation to explore ungroomed forest roads or single track and the extra length helps smooth any rough trail.
For 2024 Renegade power choices are the powerful Rotax 4-stroke engine options; the 600 ACE, 900 ACE, 900 ACE Turbo or 900 ACE Turbo R for 4-stroke longevity, smooth feel and epic thrills. Riders choosing the Enduro model can add the Rotax 600R E-TEC or 850 E-TEC to their list of choices also. Each engine is packed with adrenaline-pumping power and industry-leading throttle response.
The highly acclaimed, first semi-active suspension system ever seen in snowmobiles, Smart-Shox is an option on the X-RS model again this year. This brings cutting edge technology to the ride with an unbelievable level of handling, comfort and control.
One of the best values in snowmobiling, the Renegade Sport, returns for those looking for big fun at a great price. It features the ultra-responsive REV Gen4 platform with advanced Rotax power of the 600 ACE. It also features the added stability of RAS X front suspension and SC 5M rear suspension.
