The Apex is a living legend. Whether it’s its massive, linear torque or the electric-assist steering, The 2018 Yamaha Apex is the most reliable and capable snowmobile to ever hit the trails. Take it for a test ride and you’ll find out how easily and precisely it handles, especially with the addition of Yamaha’s new responsive suspension (YRSS). 2018 Yamaha Apex LE 50th Anniversary
PRINCIPALES CARACTÉRISTIQUES
Single Shot Rear Suspension 129
The Single Shot rear suspension offers weight savings over the previous Apex suspension.
NEW! Yamaha YRSS Reactive Suspension
This exclusive Yamaha technology allows the two front shocks to be hydraulically linked. Oil can be circulated between the two shocks using a YRSS (Yamaha Reactive Suspension System) control module that adjusts the damping and the volume of oil transferred according to the movement and forces generated by each ski. This system helps control lateral roll without compromising comfort over bumps. The result? Improved ride comfort and more precise handling than traditional shocks, which must sacrifice ride comfort for greater stability by using independent damping calibration devices and stiffer springs.
FOX FLOAT 3 XV rear shock absorber
The FOX FLOAT 3 XV shock features an air spring, courtesy of a secondary chamber that provides additional volume (Xtra Volume, XV) to counteract harsh collapses. With the increased volume of the two air chambers, the ride comfort is simply exceptional on rough trails. Plus, both tubes are infinitely adjustable to suit your preferences or conditions.
Electric power steering
Yamaha’s lightweight, high-tech DAE requires no fluids or heavy pumps. It’s a dynamic system that monitors vehicle speed, engine speed, and the rider’s directional input to calculate the optimal steering assist. Thus, at low speeds, the assistance increases, and at high speeds, it decreases. The DAE accomplishes a few things: First, it reduces the effort required to steer the snowmobile. Second, it helps limit the feedback that goes through the skis. And since the steering effort is less demanding, you can install different skis and slides without affecting the steering. A judicious combination of the DAE, suspension geometry, skis and slides allow this model to negotiate turns like a virtuoso without requiring too much effort.
Tuner II skis
Tuner dual-keel skis greatly reduce wobble, and offer a host of carbide stringer adjustments (from stringer to bite).
2018 Yamaha Apex X-TX (1.75″) 50th Anniversary
The Apex X-TX offers all the flotation you could want and the ease of going over bumps with its 146-inch Ripsaw 2 track and 1.75-inch lugs. This legendary trail cruiser comes standard with a high-performance four-cylinder engine, electric power steering, EXUP exhaust valve system, third-generation Tuner skis and Single Shot air rear suspension. In addition, this limited edition model boasts Yamaha’s high performance shocks.

SingleShot 146 rear suspension
The SingleShot rear suspension features a unique geometry and great weight savings over the old Mono Shock. The two fully-coupled suspension arms feature in-rail coupling blocks, a user-friendly track tensioner system and a 9-pound reduction over the old Mono Shock suspension, while providing exceptional ride comfort, flotation and control on rough trails.
1.75″ Backcountry Track
The next generation of tracks, the 146 by 1.75 inch Camoplast BackCountry, combines exceptional performance on the trail with superb traction and flotation off the trail. The unique lug arrangement and medium height of the lugs balance traction in powder with durability and control on the trail.
Genesis 4-cylinder engine, 998 cc
The 998cc Genesis 4-stroke engine revs like crazy and is one of the most advanced snowmobile engines of all time. This 4-cylinder engine produces its power in a linear and extremely smooth manner. Year after year, this powerhouse combines muscle, fuel economy and durability, while producing the most intoxicating tune in the industry.
Yamaha high performance shock absorber
The LE model features a factory-installed high-performance shock absorber that reduces harmful vibrations that are transmitted to the frame, improving comfort on the trail.
