2017 Arctic Cat XF Series – If you need a reason to DRIVE BIG, look no further than Arctic Cat’s 2017 XF hybrid machines. The XF CrossTour, CrossTrek® and High Country® are here to meet your personal riding style, with their category-busting on- and off-trail capabilities. We’re also introducing the all-new XF Cross Country® Limited, which delivers the Enduro® riding experience by combining dynamic off-roading with outstanding trail handling. The new standard 9000 Turbo Triple engine (except CrossTour) is a smooth, powerful engine with a familiar triple purr. TEAM Rapid Response® clutches provide excellent durability, in keeping with the hybrid family’s ode to versatility. No matter where or how you drive, there’s a model designed to meet your needs.
Turbo
The High Country Limited 9000 has more power than any other production snowmobile on the market today. The 998cc Turbo Triple four-stroke engine crushes any terrain, no matter the altitude, giving you the power you need to drive to your heart’s content.
Procross Chassis
The lightest, strongest, highest performance chassis we’ve ever built incorporates aluminum extrusions, forgings and castings in a design that sets the standard for high-tech construction. The forged steering housing unites many of the chassis’ load-bearing components. The lightweight chassis is extremely rigid. Whether you’re dominating the racetrack or your favorite trails, nothing will give you more pleasure.
Protour Chassis
The ProTour® chassis is a longer version of the ProCross® chassis. The front end of the chassis is the same as the ProCross – same frame, side rails, suspension links and steering design. The tunnel is cast from a single piece of aluminum and includes reinforced steel running boards. Riders will love the low center of gravity that provides excellent stability, ideal for solo or two-up excursions.
Proclimb Chassis
With ultra-rigid construction and neutral driver balance, the ProClimb® chassis incorporates punched, forged or cast parts to maximize the inherent strength of each. Its design brings the load-bearing components of the chassis together, eliminating flex and chassis fatigue. The ProClimb chassis, the backbone of the High Country, features a completely redesigned front suspension and a refined FLOAT-ACTION rear suspension.
Suspension Arctic Race
The front suspension geometry directs loads toward the center of the chassis. This configuration makes the front end look as dynamic as it handles. The lightweight forged aluminum one-piece rod is designed to strengthen the assembly. Ball joints reduce drag and create improved rider feedback. This design makes these snowmobiles highly maneuverable in all terrain conditions.
Arctic Mountain Front Suspension
The front of the High Country model has a new look this year. New one-piece shafts set back towards the driver’s mass have allowed us to reduce weight by 1.01 kg (2.4 lbs) while maximizing quality and strength. When it comes to counter maneuvers, the new 27° caster angle puts your inner ski in the optimal position to split the snow when maneuvering downhill. It’s ideal when you’re a slope enthusiast taking over. Plus, the one-piece forged aluminum shaft minimizes contact area at any steering angle, reducing drag.
Slide-Action Rear Suspension
Competition technology has been extended to everyday performance with the SLIDE-ACTION rear suspension. A “U” shaped slot fits over a fixed shaft to allow for a crucial 0.5″ of glide. When the rear transfer blocks are engaged, the free-acting front arm follows the shock, keeping your skis firmly planted through jumps, steep turns and acceleration. This important detail controls ski lift during acceleration.
Float-Action Rear Suspension
The FLOAT-ACTION rear suspension features a triple-hub rear axle system with a FOX FLOAT®3 rear arm shock paired with an Arctic Cat® internal floating piston front arm shock. If you’re someone who enjoys expeditions on and off the trail, the adaptability is just what you need.
Team Clutch
TEAM Industries is making your Arctic Cat® even better this year with its primary and secondary clutches. Known in the industry for their light weight and strength, they eliminate belt slippage. As a result, belt and clutch temperatures are reduced and more power is transmitted to the track. In addition, clutch adjustment is easy and precise.
Arctic Drive System
The Arctic Drive system features a lightweight magnesium chain case. For 2016, we incorporated a large TEAM® Rapid Reaction BOSS driven pulley and a TEAM Rapid Response drive pulley.
