Coat for men
The versatile and popular Husky 3-in-1 coat is back in full force with new colors this year. This one can be adapted to your needs with its removable 120g liner. Its 60g outer shell allows a total combination offering the necessary insulation to face the cold winter weather.
Available in 4 cosmetic versions, this winter we opted for the charcoal, yellow and black version to hit the trails. We can honestly say that we did not go unnoticed with these colors that we can describe as bold. At first glance, we weren’t totally convinced of the harmony of the arrangement, but as time went by, we appreciated the change in our conservative habits. Let’s face it, off-road enthusiasts like to show off a certain amount of casualness, and the Husky coat offers that cheeky, unashamed look.
When we picked it up and put it on, one of the first things we noticed was how light it was. The choice of materials used makes it portable and offers all the mobility needed to perform the desired tasks.
This jacket offers the versatility to handle any winter condition, regardless of activity, disposition or circumstance. The outer shell provides a barricade against water, cold and wind, while the liner offers unparalleled insulation and comfort. In colder conditions on the trail where effort is minimized, the combination of the liner and shell provides the armor to counter extreme cold. For more sustained physical effort requiring intermediate insulation, the removal of the liner provides effective cold resistance.
Its modular waterproofness and technical capabilities are no stranger to the care that went into its design. The zippers and seams are sealed to prevent water infiltration, keeping the wearer dry at all times. This feature favors long and harmonious hikes.
In the small details that make all the difference, let’s note the stretchy sleeves that slip on the thumbs for a perfect fit. These prevent the sleeves from retracting during movement and at the same time provide constant protection for the wrists.

Those who love trail riding as much as off-trail escapades will find what they need in the CKX Montana coats. This one is the feminine counterpart of the Husky coat that we find in men’s this year. It is available for this year in 3 different layouts to please female aspirations. In this case, Kimpex has made available to our reviewers the raspberry, charcoal and coral. It was also a hit wherever it was featured for its aesthetic and eye-catching appeal.
Like its male counterpart, it is equipped with a removable lining. The Montana is a 3-in-1 that allows for adaptation according to temperature and activity. On the other hand, its effeminate and refined cuts highlight the daring and determined sailor. It is offered with a 120g liner with a 60g shell.
Like the Husky, this top-of-the-line Montana coat is characterized by a lightness and efficiency that is more than surprising. We could be mistaken to think that its designers could have neglected certain aspects to achieve such a thin, soft and flexible coat. However, they succeeded in a tour de force to reach this high level of excellence. Their experience and active listening to users’ recommendations have allowed them to create a coat that is both versatile and consistent.
CKX Overalls
CKX offers a variety of overalls to suit the needs and practices of its users. Among them, the Husky for men and the Valley for women provide low to moderate insulation according to the specific needs of each.
For our part, we’ve chosen the Echo overalls this winter to match the men’s or women’s coats we’ve been wearing on the trail. These pants also come in solid black or a black layout with gray accents.
This Echo pant is rather specific for users who require an extreme level of warmth due to its 180g insulation. These overalls are ideal for long expeditions and for people who hike mostly on federated trails. We were never disappointed with the warmth and insulation offered by this product.
With its attributes and waterproofing, it is an ally to escape from the elements and the jolts of Mother Nature in comfort for hours on end. These overalls are reinforced at strategic points for long term durability and are an investment in itself.
Since we practice our activity sitting down most of the time, the Echo overalls are very comfortable with their preformed knees. Without a doubt, it’s a nice touch and a nice creativity.
Titan Helmet
The famous Titan helmet needs no introduction and is also offered for the new season. Launched in 2016, it has revolutionized the off-road business since its release.
This MX style helmet with a removable chin strap and integrated 210o peripheral vision has been the talk of the town since its introduction. Two general configurations are available depending on the style of hiker. The original version can be adapted to suit the activity and the degree of insulation and airtightness required. With all the accessories and 2 lenses provided, we can adapt it to our every desire and use. Available in 5 aesthetic variants, it can be easily adapted to any of the coats offered by CKX for both men and women.
Right out of the box, the Titan Avalanche helmet is ready and configured to take on the trails. It’s configured for maximum airtightness. Its ventilation inlets are obstructed and its neoprene accessories help prevent heat loss or cold from penetrating.
Are you an off-road enthusiast? Simply use the vented lens and remove your neoprene accessories to ensure improved ventilation for heat and moisture removal.
We have to be honest: CKX never rests on its laurels and the Titan helmet is proof of that. We are amazed every season to learn about the small details of improvement of this helmet. It’s a great innovation from Quebec and we can be proud to have been the first to see it.
However, it is important to mention that, in order to get the full effectiveness of the Titan helmet, the use of the CKX hood designed specifically for this helmet is strongly recommended. This hood offers an adequate opening for the face to take full advantage of the helmet’s benefits.
210o Goggles
The 210o goggle needs no further introduction as it was so popular at the time of its introduction. This goggle, by its peripheral vision, offers a safety insurance to its users. Its integrated vents also allow it to be adapted according to its use.
A small variation to this scope has been brought by its interchangeable lenses. It is now equipped with an optional photochromic lens. Huh!!! A photomachintruc lens, what!!? If I tell you an adaptive lens according to the intensity of the daylight, it will enlighten you a bit more on the subject. Yes, we had to think about it!
People who wear corrective lenses may be more familiar with the subject. It is now common to buy a pair of glasses with lenses that darken when UV rays increase in intensity.
This photochromic lens adjusts to the light outside. The patented molecules allow this visor to lighten and darken when exposed to the changing levels of ultraviolet rays from the sun. This means it will be completely clear at night when it’s dark and tinted when it’s light for better contrast on the road and to reduce glare that could blind you. A drawstring allows the ankle to be smoothed for a perfect fit and improved support. They are also comfortable and abrasion resistant to counter any eventuality. At the top, an adjustable drawstring provides a perfect fit to prevent snow infiltration and therefore, keep feet warm and moisture free.
