Fan-cooled 540 two-stroke engine – A proven 540 two-stroke engine powers an ultra-reliable utility model. Based on the legendary 540, Yamaha engineers have improved mid-range torque and reduced fuel consumption by almost 25%. This increased efficiency meets today’s emission standards with even greater reliability than its predecessor.
Mikuni TM33 Heated Carburetor – The Mikuni TM33 flat-sided heated carburetor provides precise throttle response. Two small electronic heating coils housed in the carburetor body stabilize idle and reduce spark plug fouling.
High Power Ring Stator Design – The VK540 features a large multi-coil ring stator that produces twice the power of the previous version. The resulting 400 watts are used to power the new carburetor heaters, the new two-bulb headlight, hand warmers and other accessories.
Large Capacity Fuel Tank – For longer trips or more work, a large tank with a 44-liter capacity is always appreciated. Combined with a clean engine, it almost doubles the distance you can cover with a single tank compared to the original VK540.
